I often get asked if I do sports massage and I always have to reply no, but although I am not trained in sports massage, I can do a nice deep swedish massage and can find trigger points/muscle knots.
So what is the difference between a swedish and a sports massage??
Swedish massage works on muscle groups, helping to release tension, working in a set pattern of massage movements and generally massaging the full body.
Sports massage works on individual sports injuries and problems. You could spend the treatment time working on one specific area, so therefore more specific than generalised like swedish.
If you had a regular swedish massage you may never need that more expensive sports massage and you get some relaxation too 🙂
